TEACHER: YOGA, BARRE, CONTEMPORARY & MEN’S DANCE TECHNIQUE
Lyndel is passionate about sharing the benefits of an embodied movement practice. She established The Loft over 15 years ago and encourages her students to be deeply present, to explore their innate movement capacity and to trust in themselves. Her classes incorporate a creative flow of movement sequences and emphasise strong anatomical foundations, energetic alignment and creating space in the body through release techniques. Lyndel has an extensive background in dance, training professionally in technique and movement improvisation. She is the lead trainer and course director for The Loft Barre Teacher Training program. Lyndel completed the Advanced Diploma of Yoga Teaching (350 hours) with The Australian Yoga Academy in 2015 and holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Teaching from Deakin University, majoring in Dance, Theatre and Education. She is currently completing a 12 week Smart Body, Smart Mind course with Irene Lyon, focussing on nervous system regulation, trauma, feldenkrais and somatic experiencing. Lyndel believes in the natural intelligence of the human body and movement as a catalyst for healing and transformation. She teaches with humour, enthusiasm, dedication and love.
TEACHER: YOGA, BALLET & BARRE
Alice began early ballet training in Italy at the age of six. At the Professional School of Ballet in Padua, she learnt from the best ballet and contemporary dance teachers in Europe. Alice studied ballet history, music, pointe, technique, choreography and folkloristic dance during the different workshops and conferences she took part in. Alice learnt the Italian method, Cecchetti, in combination with the Russian method Vaganova. Her love at first sight for ballet brought Alice to discover the fabulous world of contemporary dance. Dance is a form of art that allows us to express our inner beauty throughout our body language. After travelling, working and sailing around the world, Alice found her happy place in Geelong, where she completed her 200 hours Yukti Yoga Teacher Training at Pilates and Yoga Styles and started teaching with determination and compassion. At The Loft, she has the chance to combine her greatest passions, dance and yoga, in a unique, welcoming place for teaching and learning.
Simone started doing yoga over 17 years ago as a way to deal with life’s many challenges. She completed her first Yoga teacher training in 2014 with My Health Yoga Level 1 (350hrs), she then went on to further her studies in the Jivamukti method in NY 2015 studying directly with David Life and Sharon Gannon (300hrs), and has recently completed her Level 2 Training and Yin with My Health Yoga (200hrs) in 2017, 2018. She is also about to embark on Trauma Yoga Training and will forever be a humble student of the yoga method and philosophy. Simone’s classes are intuitive, fun and grounding, leaving you with the feeling that anything is possible when you step off your mat.

Renee is incredibly passionate in teaching others how to nourish, flourish and be the powerhouse that they came here to be. She embodies all things health and wellness and brings such creative and playful energy with her. Renee also attends numerous movement classes and workshops at the studio.
Sindi started as an absolute beginner student at The Loft in 2016 and has floated back and fourth to classes as time has permitted ever since. She loved the welcoming and encouraging atmosphere from the first time she walked in the door. Ballet and dance was a love from her childhood however circumstances and self consciousness prevented her from learning most of her life. In 2017 whilst sharing her story of beginning dance as an adult, Sindi was chosen as one of the first VicHealth ThisGirlCan ambassadors, encouraging other Victorian woman to get out and have a go in whatever activity they choose and not letting themselves be held back. She is happy to be part of the team and help create a safe and comfortable environment for all to learn in and explore movement.
Jane joined The Loft as a student in 2014. She started taking classes as way to get back in touch with the strength, stamina and flexibility she missed, never realising that magic of movement had something else in store for her – a complete reinvigoration of the heart and mind too. The community at The Loft is something she cherishes and believes in wholeheartedly, so much so she put her hand up to assist and has been a part of the team since 2015. Using her creative skills and keen aptitude for organisation she works with the team to ensure that everything in and out of the studio runs smoothly.
